12 June 2012 - Twitter debate: policing and the private sector
We will be hosting a live Twitter debate on policing from the @G4S_UK Twitter account on Tuesday 12 June. The debate is being hosted to give interested parties an opportunity to ask G4S about its role in supporting policing in the UK, and the role of the private sector in supporting police forces. The following guidelines should be observed by participants.
1. The discussion will commence at 2pm on Tuesday 12 June and last for one hour only. Any questions which come after 3pm will not be answered.
2. Anyone wishing to follow or join in the debate should use the hashtag: #policingdebate.
3. If you wish to participate in the debate you must already follow @G4S_UK. We will not respond to any questions from non-followers.
4. We will only respond to questions from followers who identify themselves. We will not respond to questions from followers using a pseudonym. Should you wish to ask us a question but do not want to be identified, please either Direct Message us with an email address or email us directly at media@uk.g4s.com and we will try to respond to you later offline.
5. We will try to respond to as many questions as we can, however, owing to the large interest already shown, we may only be able to respond to one question per participant.
6. If we are unable to answer all questions in the allotted time a second Twitter debate will be arranged soon.
7. We will not respond to any comments which are deemed offensive or abusive.
8. Those participating from G4S will be senior managers working in our policing business and will answer on behalf of the company.
9. We will not divulge any information which is commercially confidential.
10. We will only answer questions which relate directly to G4S and its policing support services business in the UK. This debate does not relate to other areas of our business.
11. We cannot answer on behalf of clients or individual police forces.
