G4S – Official Supplier to the 2012 Wimbledon Championships are currently recruiting for Stewarding and Security personnel.

The Wimbledon Championships are a major highlight on the years sporting calendar.  With over 20 years experience at this prestigious event, G4S have a proven track record in providing expert security solutions tailored to the unique profile of this event.

G4S personnel provide a comprehensive range of services including; bag searching, ticket checking, on-court protection, medical and player escort and vehicle searching.

Our staff provide a visible reminder that safety is our number one priority for visitors, players and staff at the event.

The Championships run from 25 June to 8 July 2012.  Applicants must be available to work each and every day during this two week period and undertake training prior to the Championships. 

You must have accommodation in London and be able to travel to and from Wimbledon daily at your own expense.

All applicants require the Right to Work in the UK.  Any applicant who is a foreign national must have a valid visa in their passport that expires on or after the 9 July 2012.

There are various pay rates for personnel employed during the Championships.  The pay rates for 2012 are yet to be confirmed, however, the rates for 2011 are displayed below as a guide:

First Year staff             £6.45

Returning staff:             £6.65  (Stewards)

DSL Licenced staff:       £8.50  (this applies to applicants who apply with an existing SIA Door

Supervisor or Security Licence that remains valid throughout the duration of the Championships)

Successful applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have an aptitude for working with the public.  A friendly, approachable and professional manner are all important, however, flexibility is key.  Ideally applicants should have some previous stewarding or customer service experience; however, this is not essential as job specific training is provided to ensure you can fulfil the role you are offered.

All applicants must be able to provide a full five (5) year checkable work / education / address history plus the name and contact details of 2 x personal references known to them for 5+ years.  Mature applicants are encouraged to apply.

If your application is successful, you may have the opportunity work at this and other world class sporting events throughout the country such as the British Grand Prix, the Investec Derby Festival (Epsom Derby), the Open Golf, exciting music festivals such as V Festival, Sonisphere, Download or exhibitions and events such as the Farnborough Air Show.
