G4S wins East Ayrshire Council Smart metering contract Add this

G4S Utility Services, one of the UK’s largest national providers of metering and field services, has been awarded a contract to deliver Smart metering services to East Ayrshire Council

The award resulted from a competitive tender issued through the Official Journal of the European Union.

The contract, covering the installation of approximately 700 Smart electricity meters and 200 gas data loggers, will employ existing G4S Utility Services staff and commenced in August.

Councillor Douglas Reid, Leader of East Ayrshire Council, commented: “G4S Utility Services demonstrated an understanding of our needs and we are confident that they can meet our requirements with regards to quality and time. We look forward to reducing our energy consumption and saving money as a result of G4S providing detailed consumption data to act upon.”

Kim Challis, Managing Director of G4S Utility Services, commented: ”East Ayrshire Council have provided us with our first Smart metering contract for local government.
