G4S awarded Bronze in Corporate Responsibility Index

G4S Secure Solutions UK and Ireland, the largest security solutions company in the country, is delighted to announce that it has scored 78% in the latest Business in the Community’s (BITC) Corporate Responsibility Index (CR Index), the UK’s leading voluntary benchmark of responsible business practice. This score, which qualifies G4S in the Bronze category for the first time, is a significant improvement on the 65% it scored in its first effort last year.
Achieving bronze accreditation means that G4S has demonstrated a clear outline of its mission, values and corporate responsibility principles, with clear roles and responsibilities being allocated right across its business. The bronze performance band is also an indication that G4S is at the early stages of environmental and social data collation and public reporting and has no more than two years of relevant data.
The CR Index is designed to inspire and challenge companies to continuously improve their impact on society and the environment. The Index covers every aspect of an organisation’s CR activity, including: corporate strategy; integration; community, environmental, marketplace and workplace management; and assurance. The Index provides a framework which helps companies to integrate and improve corporate responsibility throughout their business operations, by providing a systematic approach to managing, measuring and reporting on business impacts in society and on the environment.
