Back the Bid

G4S has been appointed as an Official Supporter to England's bid to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup™.

We are proud to back the England 2018 World Cup bid as the ‘Official Private Safety and Security Services Supplier’.  To support the campaign we have played a key part in providing advice and consultancy in relation to the bid, and we were also tasked with delivering England’s World Cup bid book to the headquarters of FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland in May. 

An important role that G4S will play in the lead up to the awarding of the World Cup is aiding the planning of the FIFA inspection visit to nominated sites in August this year.  As an existing provider of crowd management, safety and security services at many of the UK’s premier sporting stadia, we will advise on risk management and logistics in preparation for the inspection, as well as drawing on our security expertise to provide secure transportation of valuables in relation to the inspection, and any safety and protection services that are required.    

The designation of Official Supporter extends our association with world soccer, which has previously included the management of the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi and, most recently, delivering safe transportation of the FIFA World Cup trophy during its three day tour of Serbia on behalf of Coca Cola HBC, the host of the FIFA World Cup trophy tour.
