G4S Utility Services (formally AccuRead) is a national supplier of metering and related field services. We are the largest provider of meter reading services in the UK - our 2,500 employees collect, monitor, store and assess millions of pieces of information for major utilities customers every month.
Formed in 1996, we are an independent National Service Provider, scheduling jobs and processing data from over 53 million site visits and 39 million meter readings a year.

Our services are split into three areas:
1. Meter Reading and Data Management Services
Cyclical meter reading and data processing across the UK has been the backbone of G4S Utility Services activity since the company was formed over 10 years ago. Dedicated to the provision of metering reading, data management and associated support services, G4S Utility Services operates on behalf of supply organisations throughout the utilities industry.
2. Meter Operations and Meter Worker Services
The provision of Meter Operations and Meter Worker services is at the core of G4S Utility Services business development. It forms an integral part of a complete service offering available now throughout the UK.
The Meter Worker provision can be offered as a stand alone service or as part of a complete MOP package.
G4S Utility Services has a multi-skilled national field workforce and is able to deliver a variety of services at competitive prices including:
· Gas / electricity meter installation, exchange, removal and maintenance
· Procurement and storage of meter stocks
· System interface with suppliers and meter operators
· Work scheduling to defined deadlines or by appointment and based on
· MOCOPA/MAMCOP accreditation for employees
· CORGI / Gas Safe / OAMI registration
3. Smart Metering
To complement the current pedestrian activity, the provision of Smart Metering services now features as a central part of G4S Utility Services strategy for growth.
The new Meter Data Management System (MDMS) goes far beyond basic information processing and data transfer. Many Automated Meter Reading (AMR) systems simply collect meter data and deliver it for billing. However, G4S Utility Services MDMS offers a complete solution that is robust and scaleable, delivering significant benefits for customers with immediate effect and into the future.
G4S Utility Services can provide the meter worker services and skills necessary to install equipment at a consumer's property or, if required, can deliver a full MOP service as part of the NHH Supplier Hub, together with DC/DA for a total solution.
Our Meter Data Management System software will take full advantage of the benefits available from existing AMR systems, allowing utility customers to make the most of their AMR investments to date.
