Around the world, G4S is involved in sporting partnerships on many levels: from local sporting clubs and grassroots initiatives through to national football teams and international sporting events
Sport has the power to engage, ignite and unify people’s passions, regardless of their nationality, gender, language or religion. This is one of the many reasons that G4S is proud to support a number of individual Olympic and Paralympic athletes, from a diverse range of sports.
From the Brtiish Sailing Team to Olympic gold medallist in rowing, Olaf Tufte (Norway), to the current World Champion powerlifter Omar Qaradah (Jordan), G4S has been sponsoring athletes for a number of years.
The G4S 4teen, launched in 2007, is a pioneering athlete development programme providing support to a group of exceptionally talented young athletes all with a common goal of qualifying for London 2012.
G4S 4teen helps not only the athletes but also their families and many local communities around the world financially, socially and logistically in a bid to find the next generation of sporting heroes. Double Olympic champion and global athletics legend, Haile Gebrselassie is ambassador to the programme.
