G4S provides non-emergency patient transport services to hospitals across the UK, ensuring that patients are moved day and night as comfortably and securely as possible

We have delivered non-emergency patient transport services to Barking, Havering & Redbridge (BHR) NHS Hospitals Trust since 2003. The contract was renewed for a further 5 years in 2009. The contract involves over 100,000 patient journeys per annum.

We provide a professional, reliable service delivered by highly trained staff. Journeys are controlled and planned from a purpose built control centre using specialist software to maximise efficiency.

The G4S customer care policy is to deliver patients on time and without detriment to their medical conditions. We enable patients to maintain their dignity and carry them in comfort. At all times, we pay due regard to the care and wellbeing of our passengers.

The G4S healthcare logistics services renewed their BSC 5 Star status in 2010 (first achieved in 2007) with a massive 98.5% - the highest score ever given by the British Safety Council. All our healthcare logistics contracts also hold ISO9001:2008 registration and are recognised as Investors in People.

Our teams regularly receive praise and thanks from the patients they assist and the Trust staff they support:

“I have been meaning to say what a difference in service we receive from G4S as opposed to the previous providers.

It is now very rare for patients to wait long for their lifts home and the ambulances and uniforms all look much smarter – a complete turnaround!”

Peter Smith, Customer Services Officer, BHR University Hospitals NHS Trust

“It’s been a long time since I have done a journey with such a professional crew, they were kind and considerate to both myself and the patient, remembering all the time the patient’s dignity”
