Tower Hamlets Schools
G4S provides facilities management (FM) services to Tower Hamlets Schools in the East End of London
We have a 22 year PFI (Private Finance Initiative) contract with the Tower Hamlets Schools Limited PFI Consortium appointed to the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council. Our role is to provide a comprehensive integrated facilities management solution for 25 schools with around 10,650 learners spanning nursery to senior school age range, and including those with special educational needs.
Our ‘one stop shop’ service desk provides friendly and efficient 24/7 call logging for fault calls, service requests and general queries and observations on our service performance. Our service provision includes:

Hardware/maintenance on utilities

Helpdesk

Buildings and equipment maintenance services

Internal planting provision and maintenance

Management of contracted site security
Community engagement is a key priority for G4S and we work closely with social enterprise groups and the third sector, including the Bromley by Bow Centre (BBBC) - an innovative community organisation in East London. We have contracted Green Dreams, a landscaping business and one of the social enterprise groups supported by the BBBC, to provide grounds maintenance at our contract with Tower Hamlets Schools.
The BBBC is also developing a series of breakfast seminars for G4S premises managers to encourage them to develop their customer service and community engagement skills when interacting with children and other school staff.
