G4S Security Officer receives Butler Trust Award

G4S Regional Security, part of G4S Secure Solutions (UK) is delighted to announce that one of its employees has won a Butler Trust Award.
G4S Regional Security, part of G4S Secure Solutions (UK) is delighted to announce that one of its employees has won a Butler Trust Award. The Butler Trust Annual Awards recognise outstanding dedication, skill and creativity on the part of those working in prison, probation, youth justice services, criminal justice social work and court escort & custody settings across the UK.
Tony Ridgeway, a Security Officer for G4S Regional Security, working in the North West region of the UK was bestowed his award in recognition of his work for the Greater Manchester Intensive Alternative to Custody pilot project. This programme is targeted 18-25 year old males that would otherwise face a short custodial sentence. It brings together agencies that were charged with using a fresh approach to achieve positive change and support young men into training, apprenticeships and employment.

Tony is part of a superb team of officers who have excelled in executing a new service concept. The Butler Trust receives more than 250 nominations each year from staff, volunteers and offenders for its awards. This year 13 worthy winners were announced and their hard work and dedication was celebrated at a ceremony held at Buckingham Palace on 15th March. The Awards were launched in 1985 in memory of the reforming former Home Secretary, Rab Butler. The Awards are supported at the very highest levels and the Award Winners and Commendees receive their certificates from Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal.
