G4S Strengthens Green Credentials

G4S Cash Solutions UK - part of global security firm G4S plc – has signed a three year contract with environmental waste and recycling specialists ACM Environmental as part of the business’ plan to increase recycling rates to 95 per cent by April 2012.
The contract follows a six month implementation programme which resulted in the cash management business tripling its recycling rates from 28 per cent to 83 per cent.
The environmental specialists conducted a complete audit of the entire G4S Cash Solutions UK network identifying where efficiency savings could be made and waste could be recycled as part of ACM’s Greener Path Programme.
ACM Environmental’s bespoke waste management plan will allow G4S Cash Solutions UK to drive environmental innovation across the business, reducing its carbon footprint and placing sustainability at the top of its agenda.
Valerie Rands, Head of Procurement for G4S Cash Solutions, said: “By working with ACM, we have streamlined our supply chain from 34 suppliers to just one, dramatically increasing our recycling levels. On top of this, ACM is delivering cost savings and improved environmental audit trails with minimal input from us. I’m really looking forward to driving the improvements in our environmental performance.”
