Contract Manager/Retail Support Manager

G4S value experience and is always keen to retain and promote staff through the company. As a result many of our managers have a lot of experience within the security industry and within G4S, with the average length of service for the contract managers in the region being typically over 10 years.

Many of our managers started their careers as security officers or supervisors and have been promoted through the business. There is a strong police and military background to many of our employees, however G4S does recognise that other areas of commerce can provide valuable fresh thinking to our service provision and therefore have managers from various industry backgrounds in the business.

Our managers look after customers within a small geographic area to ensure they maintain regular contact and oversight of the operation. This is made easier, as all our contract mangers live locally to the geographic area they look after.  Each contract manager has between 15-20 clients that range from head office to industrial locations.

South East and London Region covers more than most would assume. We cover up to and including Greater London, Ipswich, across to Luton, down to the south coast, and as far west as Chichester. The region is further split into eight distinct areas: Greater London, Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Essex, Suffolk and Hertfordshire.

It is the contract manager’s responsibility to:

  • Promote the regional business in a positive manner and actively grow the portfolio in line with target expectations
  • Deliver an exceptional standard of customer service, which exceeds expectations
  • Deliver performance of portfolio to a high standard and meet all KPI requirements
  • Deliver the service in line with contractual requirements and budgetary expectation
  • Deliver all price increase requirements in-line with appropriate renewal dates
  • Deliver all site documentation in-line with contract and legal requirements, including Assignment Instructions, and Health & Safety risk assessments
  • Maximise staff retention through training development and a robust welfare programme
  • Motivate and encourage all staff to achieve best possible results.
