Site Managers

Manage the day to day operation of the contract, employees and the customer relationship.

Local Contract Manager

We have a number of contract managers, strategically located throughout the region. They live locally to the sites they manage, which better enables them to deliver a bespoke, hands on service.

Our contract managers are our key asset - as they manage the day to day relationship with our customers and our staff. They are responsible for:

  • Maintaining site documentation such as; risk assessments, training records and assignment instructions
  • Developing staff skills
  • Building customer relationships.

The contract managers look after customers within a small geographic area to ensure they maintain regular contact and oversight of the operation.

They are supported by an area manager, whose primary objective it is to maintain service delivery. Furthermore, they are supported by the regional director who focuses on the strategic direction of the business, and team.

The contract managers have generally started their careers as security officers, giving them a foundation in the security industry to build their career on.

Area Managers  

Two area managers work across the Region - Alan Grey and Brian Newlands. With over 25 years experience within the security industry between them, our area managers bring a wealth of experience with them.

Alan Grey, Area Manager West

Alan has been within security for over 15 years, as both a customer and supplier of contracted security services. Most of the positions Alan has held have been area management roles, including a key position during the role-out of a Prisoner Custodial contract in Scotland.

Currently, Alan has an exceptional portfolio of 51 customers across 106 sites, and over 400 security officers. His portfolio is very diverse and ranges from securing high profile buildings and general guarding duties for both the public and private sector.

As an area manager Alan overseas key areas that cover the West Coast of Scotland, covering locations from the borders of Scotland to Fort William, including Dumfries, Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr.

Alan’s role is to maintain and enhance the performance of the contract for all sites within his area through implementing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which feed into the company’s quality system.

Brian Newlands, Area Manager East

Brian started at G4S in 1992 as a contract supervisor with a national customer and worked through the ranks to account manager. He has supported various parts of the business from 1992 to 2008 including several secondments to key contracts in order to deliver change and implement best practice.

Brian is accountable for the operational service delivery, customer service and contract management support within Scotland - East. He is highly experienced and motivated with excellent interpersonal skills, developed within an operational and customer focussed business environment over a number of years.

Brian understands the operational and service deliverables and therefore achieves a high standard of service delivery through effective team building, communication and strong managerial leadership.He is able to influence stakeholders in the pursuit of strategic goals whilst understanding and managing the requirements of all stakeholders.

Pat O'Neil, Business Development Manager  

Pat has a diverse employment background, enabling him to work with, and understand the requirements of our diverse customers – in the public and private sector.  

Working across Scotland, Pat is responsible for a variety of customers in key locations such as; Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dumfries & Borders, Central Belt , Stirling, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness, Highlands & Islands

Pat’s role is of a senior strategic specialist and involves identifying and securing business opportunities, and being responsible for developing and maintaining a 12-36 month pipeline of opportunity – depending on the customer.

Pat has excellent relationship management skills, account planning skills and analytical skills at a corporate level. He also has the ability to lead and motivate multi-functional teams and has strong inter-personal and planning skills, proven leadership and people management skills.

Jack Craig, Director Scotland

Jack is responsible for operational delivery on behalf of his customer portfolio.

He is a strategic thinker committed to strong team working, effectively balancing achievement of commercial targets with high quality customer service delivery.

With 30 years industry experience, Jack’s primary focus is ensuring customers have the right security solution for their specific needs.

“My aim is to maintain excellent, open and accountable long-term relationships with all our customers, based on mutual trust and understanding.”
