Aviation cargo security training
Level A
The aviation cargo security training Level A course is mandatory for staff that have access to secure areas but do not have direct involvement with air cargo.
Course content includes:
- General awarenss
- Oganisation of aviation security
- Principles of air cargo security
- Respondong to suspicious circumstances
- Reacting to threat warning
Duration: One day
Level B
This aviation cargo security training Level B course is mandatory for drivers with specific responsibility for known cargo.
Course content as Level A plus:
Duration: One day
Level C
The aviation cargo security training Level C course is mandatory for staff involved with controlling access to, searching and loading of aircraft.
Course content as Level A plus:
- Access control, cargo protection and patrolling control areas
- Searching, checkign and controlling access to aircraft
- Recognition of firearms and explosives.
Duration: One day
Level D
The aviation cargo security training Level D course is mandatory for staff involved in the handling or preparation of air cargo.
Course content as Level B+C plus:
- Methods of concealment
- Methods of making cargo known.
Duration: Two days
Level E
The aviation cargo security training Level E course is mandatory for staff involved in the screening of unknown cargo (excludes x-ray examination procedures). Please note delegates are also required to pass the Cargo National X-ray Competency Test (NXCT) before they are qualified to operate an x-ray machine.
Course content as Level D plus:
- Using cargo x-ray equipment (available at client's premises only and must be specific to client's own x-ray equipment. Please call to discuss your requirements)
- Physical examination.
Duration: Two days – without x-ray practical / three days – with x-ray practical
Level F
The aviation cargo security training Level F course is mandatory for supervisors of staff qualified up to and including Level E, or staff who have day-to-day responsibility for air cargo security procedures. Please note delegates are also required to pass the Cargo National X-ray Competency Test (NXCT) before they are qualified to operate an x-ray machine.
The Course content as Level E plus:
Duration: Two days – without x-ray practical / three days – with x-ray practical
Level G
The aviation cargo security training Level G course is mandatory for the 'Appointed Security Manager' as nominated in your security programme. The course will also be required training for 'Site Security Representatives' as defined in the Single Direction on Cargo (SDoC) which came in to effect on 1 September 2009. Please note delegates are also required to pass the Cargo National X-ray Competency Test (NXCT) before they are qualified to operate an x-ray machine. Before a Level G holder can deliver training, they - and the training programme they propose to use - must be approved by TRANSEC.
Course content as Level F plus:
Duration: Three days – without x-ray practical / four days – with x-ray practical
For all aviation cargo security training levels:
Assessment by: Written test
Renewal: Every two years
Qualification: Cargo certificate, accredited by the DfT
Course material: Includes DVD and PowerPoint presentation
