HMP Altcourse retains British Safety Council 5 Star Accreditation

G4S Care and Justice Services are delighted to announce that HMP Altcourse has retained its British Safety Council 5 Star Accreditation, achieving an improved score on last year in the process.

The accreditation recognises excellence in Health & Safety and is achieved through a review of health and safety performance of the business, from management right through to the implementation of associated systems in the workplace.   Benefits to the business include benchmarking effectiveness of health and safety systems, identifying areas for improvement and a safer working environment for all.

Commenting on today’s announcement Jerry Petherick, Managing Director of Offender Management for G4S Care and Justice Services said: "This is a tremendous achievement, not only for the Health & Safety team but for everyone at HMP Altcourse who have worked tirelessly to ensure we gained this important reaccreditation.  Our commitment to Health and Safety both for our employees and for those in our care is of paramount importance and we are delighted to be recognised in this way.”
