G4S strengthens maritime risk consultancy

G4S Risk Management, a leading provider of risk mitigation and secure support services, has appointed Martin Ewence, as its new Head of Maritime Security, Risk Consulting

Martin will focus on strengthening G4S’s maritime risk consulting business, building on G4S’s already proven capability in providing solutions to the global shipping industry.

A former Commander in the Royal Navy, in which he served for 30 years, Martin has extensive experience dealing with international maritime security issues, ranging from fishery protection through to command of a destroyer in war and high level diplomatic missions. His most recent appointment was as Chief of Staff to the NATO Counter Piracy Squadron in the Somali Basin.  He is also a member of the Maritime Security Working Group within the Security in Complex Environments Group, the UK Government's industry partner for the regulation and accreditation of private security providers on land and at sea.
