Crystal clear lesson about climate
More than 500 youngsters from local schools visited The Crystal in Docklands during Climate Week, where members of the G4S security team hosted a number of activities and workshops. Activities included a sustainability-based scavenger hunt, environmentally friendly games of Twister and giant snakes and ladders and workshops held in a life-size model of an eco-friendly train.
“It went really well – the children had a lot of fun and also learned a lot about the environment,” said Receptionist Rachel McVeagh. “We were showing them what they could do to be more eco-friendly at home and at school – such as making sure to turn off lights and taps that aren’t being used – and they understood.” She added: “Hopefully we’ll get the chance to run more activities like this in the future.”
Chris Beavis, Senior Service Delivery Manager, said: “‘Ensuring that over 500 school children had an enjoyable learning experience while keeping their safety paramount proved to be a challenging and rewarding experience for The Crystal security team. “Our client’s support in entrusting G4S with leading this project empowered the whole team to really pull together to make Climate Week a success.”
